A hero's journey

We all have had that feeling of…”I don’t think I can do this” or “I know is a great idea, but maybe is stupid and unreal after all”…blah, blah, blah, our fearfulness mind takes over.

Most of the people that read my blog are ready to jump and go for an objective that transcends a personal need. They want to make a difference, they want to change the world, they want to change more than just their life. Vertiginous feeling, I know. But I have to admit is one of the greatest feelings to have.

Today I had the opportunity to speak with some amazing and very daring minds. I felt the energy for standing up and fighting for what they truly believe in life. Unfortunately at the same time, I also felt the blocks, the fears keeping them from jumping. Thinking big and different is not an easy choice, nor the easiest path, but for sure is one of the most fulfilling ones.

Before you completely discard your idea, let me make an invitation to recover your sense of identity, by facing your fears. What is the voice in your head whispering. Is it telling you?

  • You are no good
  • Too old
  • Too ugly
  • They won’t like you
  • You don’t have a real talent
  • You don’t have enough money
  • You are not creative
  • You don’t have enough education
  • You don’t even speak good English {that was a big one for me}

This voice has a way of belittling you every time you want to do something extraordinary with your life. Once you acknowledge your fears, journal about them and instead of fighting them, send them away with peace in your heart by making daily affirmations that represent who you are in your essence.

  • I am Creative, Resourceful and Whole
  • I am willing to create an amazing life for myself and the world
  • I can change my life and others
  • I am full of truth and beauty
  • I have trust in myself and God

You will slowly start taking over what the voice took away from you a long time ago, some of your “Self-confidence”.

Fear will never completely erase from your life, because is a survival instinct. But it will stop keeping you from jumping into an amazing life.

“Sometimes in life we must face darkness, in order to unveil our true light.”

One last thought, reach out, is more fun to share the journey with others {cool friends always provide some pretty resistant harness}.
