I guess you can aim to be next Dalai Lama and read and meditate your life away, just don’t forget he has no wife, kids or bills to pay.
But how do WE do it? Yes, us living a real life. I guess we all aim to become our best and hopefully taste some of those long desired dreams as parents, entrepreneurs, wife/husband, artist or whatever title you want to hold in society.
Of course I don’t have the answer but I don’t think it’s very smart to drown yourself with content from self-improvement and spiritual books and missing on the opportunity to create your own experiences. There is no other realistic way of growing but to experience life. You have been thinking and reading about too much. Don’t think about it anymore, you are going to fail regardless. I haven’t yet met a person who didn’t fail in life at some point (If you find that person give her my email address please…). To me life is about doing things, not reading about them. Books really are going to give you some knowledge, but experience is magical.
I’m turning 35 this Thursday and by instinct I know I’m starting a fascinating new cycle in my life, but I’m not going to read about what its like. I’m determined to live and share my life fully and hopefully inspire others to do the same along the way.
Don’t get me wrong, I do read. I’m just a little promiscuous about it, I jump from book to book until one like the one I’m reading now (a present from my friend Galia that I found on my doorstep a couple of days ago…) lands on my hands and I fall absolutely in love and devour it. The book is “Nosotras Que Nos Queremos Tanto” by Marcela Serrano.
I understand it does take some awakening. Yes, you need to be AWAKE and you need to be truly connected to your soul and heart in order to take off in life. A good start can be learning how to listen to your intuition; your answers are not out there in the world. Everything you need to know you already know, it’s just a matter of learning how to access the source. After that the only thing you need to do is to jump into the cold water!
Funny, but I’ll recommend a book to finish: The Intuitive Way by Penney Pierce, it’s a guide to live from your inner wisdom.
But don’t forget the formula, you’ll get 10% out of this book and the rest is on you.
